| Nobody likes to
have their appointment time
interrupted by Dr. Oken receiving
non-urgent text messages or phone
calls on his cell. We kindly ask
that during normal business hours,
please refrain from doing so, and
instead, either call the office
410-910-7500 or send an email (see
below). By doing so, it makes it
easier for Dr. Oken to respond to
your needs when he is available to
concentrate on you rather than the
patient he is currently seeing. |

Text messaging:
Please
refrain from sending Dr. Oken
any text message unless it is
either in direct response to a
text message that he has sent to
you or you have an urgent need.
During office hours, when Dr.
Oken is seeing a patient, he
obviously cannot respond to text
messages, so they pile up and
can easily be missed. And
overnight, please refrain from
sending him any text messages as
they don't always wake him up;
instead, if you have an urgent
issue, call him on his cell
phone. If it's non-urgent, send
an email or leave a message on
the office phone.

Remember, for
emergencies, call 911, then call
either the office or Dr. Oken on his
cell.
We hope that if patients can comply
with these requests, it will make
your own appointment more productive
and help facilitate better
communication.
